Fresh off a series win of afternoon games with the Cubs, the Pirates roll into the City of Brotherly "Love" (and Brotherly Tasering) for a 2-game series with the Phillies.  This is the first time the Pirates will play an NL East team this year, and they are the last team in either league to have not played a team from each division yet.  I'm gonna do something a little different this time and preview this series as a list of good news and bad news.

Good News: The Pirates won their last series, which was all afternoon games, something the Pirates have been struggling with recently.
Bad News: The Bucs now have to face the two-time NL Champions and current NL East division leaders in their own house.
Good News: It's only a two-game series.
Bad News: The Pirates have to face one of the best pitchers in the majors in Roy Halladay the second game.
Good News: The Phillies have lost 5 of their last 7 games.
Bad News: They went 5-1 against the Pirates last year.
Good News: Rain is in the forecast, so it is possible that one or both of these games may be rained out.
Bad News: The Pirates will have to face this team later in the year if this happens, when they are possibly gearing up for another playoff run.
Good(?) News: Quite possibly it won't matter if the Pirates win at that point.

Expected Pitching Matchups

May 17: Charlie Morton (1-6-0) vs. Kyle Kendrick (1-1-5)
