Still don't know what it is about Correia and sucking at PNC Park. The bullpen was bad as well, giving up 5 runs, including a very rare horrible 3-run (2 earned) outing by Hanrahan. Despite all the battling back and a very bad call that led to a run, the Bucs were just not meant to win this game. Brandon Wood had 3 RBI and 2 hits, but it wasn't enough.

Recap: Jeff's Got a Squeeze Box. BUCS WIN.
The Pirates are finally above .500! Yes, that's right, they are finally above .500 at home after being above the watermark on the road almost all year. Brandon Wood turned on beast mode and hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd to give the Bucs the early lead. He would add another on an RBI single in the 4th. The Bucs added 2 more runs in the 6th off a McKenry sac fly and a Karstens suicide squeeze play that was perfectly executed and scored Overbay from 3rd easily. The was no save opportunity for Hammertime, but Resop came in in the 9th and struck out 2 to put the Bucs 4 games over for the first time since 1992. 3 of the 9 Bucco hits came off the bat of Matt Diaz, who has started to heat up lately (10 hits in his last 23 ABs). The Bucs will try for the sweep later tonight.
VFPH's 3 Stars of the Game
- PIT Jeff Karstens, SP: 7.0 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 1 HR; 0 for 1, 1 RBI, 1 BB
- PIT Brandon Wood, 3B: 2 for 3, 1 R, 3 RBI, 1 BB, 2-run HR
- PIT Matt Diaz: 3 for 4, double
