The Bucs roll into 'Frisco to face the team which is currently tied for the best record in baseball (5-1). This will definitely be a tough series for the Bucs, and just 1 win would probably be a victory here. Of course, the more the better. Luckily, we won't have to see the Giants' ace, Lincecum.
Some news on the Pirates roster front as Ross Ohlendorf, who was expected to start Monday night, was scratched due to back spasms. LHP Brian Burres was called up from Indy to take his place.
The Pirates have also designated Hayden Penn for assignment. With an astounding 30.86 ERA so far this season, I can't say I'm terribly surprised. Daniel McCutchen was also optioned to make room for Joel Hanrahan, who was taken off the disabled list today. Hanrahan is expected to start April 17th in the middle game of a 3-game series with the Reds.
The forecast calls for rain for at least 2 of the days, so it remains to be seen whether any of these games get postponed or called.
