Not sure what to say. The bats could barely sniff Josh Johnson and the Marlins' bullpen, striking out 12 times. Paul Maholm's MO has been to struggle early, recover enough to give the bats a reasonable chance to lead, and then get no run support whatsoever. The hitting held up their end, but he struggled not only early but for all 3.2 of his innings pitched. Not sure if it's a confidence thing or if his career is starting to wind down. Back under the gun again.
