This should be an interesting series, as two pitchers are making their MLB debuts.  In the first game of the series, you have the highly touted Stephen Strasburg, who blew through the minor leagues after being drafted last year.  In the second game, we will finally be able to see what former first rounder Brad Lincoln can do at the major league level.  If Brad's finally coming up, despite previous words from the management indicating otherwise, I'm hopeful that Pedro and Jose can't be far behind as they are in a similar circumstance.

The MLB Draft has begun, and instead of SS prospect Manny Machado, the Pirates have taken with their 2nd overall pick one of the highest touted pitchers they've drafted in years, Jameson Taillon.  He will not come cheap, but if you believe the management, they are willing to shell out the dough if he can produce.  Jameson is a high schooler who already can throw a 99 mph fastball and has about 4 different pitches in his repetoire that he can throw effectively.  I've heard comparisons for him to Strasburg and Roger Clemens.  Definitely an exciting player, and really, taking either Machado or Taillon would have helped the Pirates immensely.  The days of the crappy Pirates draft days thankfully seem to be over.
