Once again the Pirates were pounded by the long ball of the Cardinals, and they lost their first series since Cleveland. Kevin Correia continues to pitch terribly at home, this time giving up 7 runs in 4.2 innings. In addition, despite a decent effort by the offense last night, the bats fell silent in this one, with d'Arnaud and Diaz as the only players with 2 hits, while Brandon Wood had the only RBI. Meanwhile, down on the farm, Pedro Alvarez went 2 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBI. Is it time to call him back up yet? At least the unis were nice to look at in this game.
