Well, that didn't really go as planned. The Pirates were simply out-muscled by the Birds, who hit 3 homers against them, 2 of which scored 2 runs each. The other RBI was a single by the FREAKING PITCHER. It figures that on a night where the offense actually showed some life (Michael McKenry went 3 for 4), the pitching and defense collapsed. I have to wonder what this game would have been like if Garrett Jones was actually an outfielder and not a 1st baseman. The only thing we can do though is forget this game and move on.
