The Pirates are finally above .500! Yes, that's right, they are finally above .500 at home after being above the watermark on the road almost all year. Brandon Wood turned on beast mode and hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd to give the Bucs the early lead. He would add another on an RBI single in the 4th. The Bucs added 2 more runs in the 6th off a McKenry sac fly and a Karstens suicide squeeze play that was perfectly executed and scored Overbay from 3rd easily. The was no save opportunity for Hammertime, but Resop came in in the 9th and struck out 2 to put the Bucs 4 games over for the first time since 1992. 3 of the 9 Bucco hits came off the bat of Matt Diaz, who has started to heat up lately (10 hits in his last 23 ABs). The Bucs will try for the sweep later tonight.
