Recap: Run Support. BUCS WIN.

Home runs for everybody! Or at least for Cedeno, Overbay, Snyder, and McCutchen. When I mentioned that there would be a few homers hit in the Gameday post, I meant that there would probably be a couple hit by both teams. Obviously, and luckily for us, the Pirates took up the Cubs share of that. Paul Maholm pitched a masterpiece, allowing only 3 Cubs to reach base all game and hugely earning his 2nd win of the season. Now the Buccos look to take the series sweep today and carry the momentum of a 3-game winning streak into the Big Apple, where the Metropolitans have fallen on some hard times of late. A win today would also mean the Bucs are only one win away from the only number most Pirates fans care about anymore. Steve Pearce left the game in the 4th inning with calf soreness; hopefully it's just precautionary as he has been hitting very well lately in place of Pedro.
