The Bucs were in this game the whole way until the 11th happened. Jordan Schafer was running around.

Jordan Schafer leads off from second base

Steve Pearce had the game of his career, except when he grounded out with the bases loaded in the 9th. The rest of the order... well, Tabata, Diaz, and Overbay all had 2 hits each, but that was pretty much it. The Bucs fall to 2-7 against the NL East this year, and things don't look especially promising for that stat to improve with the Phillies coming up on the schedule soon. Maybe they will even it out a bit with a series against the Mets coming up. For now, it's on to Chicago, where the Bucs have played incredibly well lately.

VFPH's 3 Stars of the Game

  1. PIT Steve Pearce, 3B-1B: 3 for 5, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR
  2. ATL Brooks Conrad, PH: 1 for 1, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR
  3. PIT James McDonald, SP: 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 1 H
Play of the Game: Conrad's 2-run homer in the 11th
