Ryan Doumit has had a complete turnaround from last year, even with a large chunk of his season missing due to injury. He came back from the DL and hasn't missed a beat, going 10 for 23 (.435) with 2 HRs and 4 RBI, raising his season average to .302, the first time it's been that high this late in a season probably ever. J-Mac got the victory, breaking his winless streak at 3 games. It wasn't an especially dominant performance for him, but he did limit the Cards to just 6 hits and 2 runs in his 5.2 IP, while striking out 4. Also, the home losing streak was snapped at 7. A great win against a tough opponent.
