The Pirates have not scored a run for 20 innings. Needless to say, this trend needs to be stopped immediately. Charlie Morton had another Quality Start, but nothing came of it due to lack of scoring. Our pitchers have allowed just 167 Earned Runs, good for 8th place in the majors. The walks issued have also come down sharply, as the Pirates are currently 14th in that category, just ahead of the Yankees. So the pitching is there, now all we need is the bats. They were looking pretty good in Cincinnati and the first two games against the Tigers. Hopefully these last two games were just a result of some excellent pitchers dominating and not part of another trend of lack of hitting. Evan Meek was superb in his return from injury.
