Getting shut out is an apt way to end this series, as the Pirates have shifted firmly into Anemic Offense Mode again. Can't say I like losing like this, but at this point if you're going to lose, you might as well lose big.
Zach Duke went 6.0 IP with 6 H, 3 R / 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, and 1 HR. It was an effort that might have gotten a win had he had any support. Chris Resop and Joel Hanrahan both had 2 Ks each.
Ryan Doumit went 2 for 3 with a double, but only Neil Walker and Argenis Diaz had the other hits for the team.
The Bucs were swept in this series, but it moves them into the bottom spot for the first time this season, overtaking Baltimore.
