An early lead was bolstered by another strong outing by J-Mac to allow the Bucs to take the first game in this 4-game series. McDonald already has more wins as a Bucco than Ross Ohlendorf despite only having 3 starts with them. In this game he went 7.0 IP, allowing only 3 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB, 0 HR, and had 6 Ks. Chris Resop and Joel Hanrahan got the job done in relief.
Offense came back in a big way, but that's probably due to Chris Volstad's terrible pitching. 3 Players had multi-hit games, all 2 for 4: Andrew McCutchen, Pedro Alvarez, and Chris Snyder. Doubles were hit by Neil Walker and Garrett Jones, and Cutch had a solo shot in the 7th, his 10th HR of the season.
