I said in the gameday that the Pirates would need a lot of offense to win this game; what I didn't expect was for Ross Ohlendorf to win the game all by himself. In addition to only allowing 4 hits and 2 ER in 7.0 IP, he also hit a 3-run homer in the 2nd to take a 4-1 lead and it was all the Bucs would need to earn the W. Evan Meek struggled in the ninth, loading the bases with 2 outs, but Hammertime saved the day for the 38th time this season. The Pirates will look to take at least a split in the second late night game of this series.

Recap: Ross the Boss. BUCS WIN.
